Prom season

Hi, again.

Prom is coming up if you lived in the states and sometimes finding the perfect dress can be hard. I have a few tips that might help.

  • try to search on pictures and look for dresses months before the actual prom date
  • find a dress that fits your body-type (hourglass, inverted triangle, triangle, oval, rectangular and diamond) and also find out what colors you should have
  • if you have found a dress you like, ask if you can try it out at home just to see how it fits and how it will look in natural lighting and with flash.
  • and it's you who wears the dress, not the dress wearing you

When it comes to the hair and makeup, don't feel bad for asking if you walk in to a make up counter what will look good on you. They might help you and also give you tips on how to do your make up if you decide to do it your self. Same goes with the hair, look up what suits your face shape (heart-shaped, oval, square, round) and look on Youtube for ideas, and if you decide to do it in a hair salon ask for how much its going cots you and how long the hairstylist/dresser needs, and also look for salons near you or what takes a half hour to drive to.

I have a few tips on choosing your dress depending on your body-type:

Triangle: small shoulders and a wide hip - look for a dress that fits you, first and formal, and pair that with a blazer with shoulder pads and no not like 80's - that will give the illusion of wider shoulders

Inverted triangle: small hip and broad shoulders - find a dress highlights your shoulders and also, in this case find what looks like a princess dress and that will give you a broader waist

Rectangular: your shoulders and hip has the same measures - in this case you want to find a dress that gives you a waist, so try to find a dress that have a little belt.

Hour glass: your hips and shoulders are the same and you have a small waistline - try a mermaid dress - that will really show of your curves or a longer dress with a little belt.

Diamond: broad waist line and small hips and shoulders - try a corset to make your waist a bit smaller and look for a knee-long dress to show of your legs.

Rounded: you are broad over all(but very beautiful) - find a dress that gives you support over your bust-line and try if you feel comfortable go for a dress that shows of your legs.

I know that was a lot, but I wanted to give you some ideas and my final words will be Have Fun and don't let anybody ruin your time <3
